Aspirall - and Independent Living

Independent Living is a philosophy as well as a Movement of disabled people.   Independent Living’ doesn’t mean disabled people want to do everything ourselves, or that we don’t need anyone’s help. We don’t want to live in isolation. We simply want to enjoy the everyday choices that non-disabled people take for granted. We want to grow up within our families. We want to go to local schools, use the same buses as everyone else, work in enjoyable jobs that we’re qualified for and have normal, happy families of our own.

Plan a brighter future

Everyone seems to agree that Direct Payments are necessary to give disabled people the same independence, civil rights and human rights as everyone else. Overall, things are looking up. But many disabled people still face problems. It can be a real challenge to get adequate funding. And once you’ve got funding, it’s equally difficult to find suitable well-trained Personal Assistants. We’re here to help, advise and support you through the process.
